Our hulls are exclusively designed and built to Chanel Narrowboats high specification, using quality steel, in the customary 10:6:5:4 format. Upon completion; the hulls are immediately and completely shot blasted to remove any traces of mill scale then painted before any oxidisation of the steel can take effect.
Our hulls are hand painted, using Craftmaster paints, before the windows are fitted, ensuring protection against the elements behind the frame edges. Many manufacturers rely on window seals to do this and paint around the frames. As the boat ages and the seals harden owners become frustrated with rust appearing around the window frames creating problems and potentially de-valuing the boat. Our six coat paint procedure helps to ensure that this problem does not arise with a Chanel narrowboat.

Relax on the beautifully curved bow with a drink or watch the world go by from the amply sized, cruiser style, deck. The lower part of the hull is coated with a two pack preparation, offering more protection than traditional bitumen coatings.
The inside of our hulls are completely insulated and lined with 3M's Thinsulate™ material which provides first-rate insulation and vastly reduces the likelihood of damage from condensation whilst providing excellent fire resistance.
